‼️ This is ONLY for customers not using a currently supported marketing automation system, these instructions outline how to add Engagio's email open tracking to your email marketing platform.

Step 1 - Get Engagio Account ID

Go to the admin-only Web Tracking Script page, your account ID is in the location highlighted:

Each customer's account ID is different so do not copy the screenshot above

Step 2 - Copy one of the HTML Snippets below

We've tried to provide examples of our email tracking snippet for the most common email systems, find yours below.

Copy the HTML Snippet below into your email template, preferably in the global footer or equivalent

Step 3 - Test it out

Send us a test email to support@engagio.com and we'll verify that everything worked!

ExactTarget Example

Add this HTML Code Snippet below to your email template, we recommend putting it in a global footer that's used for all emails.

<img width="1px" height="1px" src="http://px.engagio.com/e/REPLACE_WITH_ACCOUNT_ID?email=%%emailaddr%%&name=%%emailname_%%"/>

The following Tokens are automatically filled out by ExactTarget:

%%emailaddr%% - ExactTarget token to substitute with recipient's email ID
%%emailname_%% - ExactTarget token to substitute with internal name of the email

MailChimp Example

Add this HTML Code Snippet below to your email template, we recommend putting it in a global template that's used for all emails.

<img width="1px" height="1px" src="http://px.engagio.com/e/REPLACE_WITH_ACCOUNT_ID?email=*|EMAIL|*&name=*|MC:SUBJECT|*"/>

The following Tokens are automatically filled out by ExactTarget:

*|EMAIL|* - Inserts your subscriber's email address.
*|MC:SUBJECT|* - Displays the campaign's subject line indicated on the Setup step of the Campaign Builder.

How it Works in General

<img width="1px" height="1px" src="http://px.engagio.com/e/{account_id}?email={TOKEN}&name={TOKEN}"/>

account_id (Required) - Unique id provided from Engagio system for each customer.
email (Required) - Token name from the customer email system to substitute recipient's email id at the time of sending the email
name (Optional) - Token name from the customer email system to uniquely identify this email which would be substituted at the time of sending the email. This could be an email ID, subject line, or even hardcoded value. In the case of hard coded value, it needs to be changed for every email which is not ideal.

These tokens would be different for every email system. For some of them, we may be able to provide the code snippet with pre-populated token names.
